Ignace Weather Stats for May 2024

Average Temperature +10.9 continuing the cool trend that began in April.

Highest Temperature +25.6 on the 30th, a warm reading.

Coldest Temperature -2.2 on the 2nd.

The temperature stayed cool with high most days in the mid to upper teens but there were only 2 days with frost.

Total precipitation was 129.4 mm, which is normal. However 104 mm fell in a 4 day storm from the 21st to the 24th with 58 mm arriving on the 22nd. This filled the lakes and rivers but did little to moisten the soil.

There were 7 days with measurable snowfall.

The mild weather in the first week eroded the snowpack from 15 to 6 cm.

At the end of the month there was only 17 cm of snow on the ground.
